The Deep Roots of Oaxaca

I'll be in Oaxaca a week from today. And I'm making a little list of things I want to do while I'm there. And some things I want to buy too.

My most off-the-beaten-path tour heads to the land of the Mixteco people on the Oaxacan Coast, where we explore slow fashion and native textiles visiting many village artisans. January 2024 finds me touring in the high mountain town of San Cristobal Chiapas, where we take a deep dive into contemporary Mayan culture. We visit 5 different villages and learn about their ritual and ceremonial life mixing Catholic and native beliefs.
