Recollections on a Rainy Saturday Night in June
It is not an exaggeration to say that each trip to Oaxaca is better than the one before. The trip this last March definitely fits that bill. Finally on a cold, rainy, Saturday night in June (yes June) in the Pacific Northwest, I'm conjuring memories of Oaxaca and posting some pics. Kind of fitting since I think it's raining in Oaxaca right now too. In fact I've seen photos of the big, beautiful tree at the San Augustin Etla Art Center completely uprooted by torrential rains. My friends at the coast lost their entire trail to the beach (all 300 plus feet of it) from 15 inches of rain in 3 days. The drought is over but the rains are fierce. Hurricane Beatrice had her way with things. Summer in Oregon and the rains have begun in Oaxaca.
