We also found this very moving display of public art on our walk around Oaxaca City. It's 2,501 almost life size clay figures that line the sides of the Alcala, a car free, pedestrian only street in the heart of downtown. It's a show called 2,501 Migrantes by native Oaxqueno artist Alejandro Santiago Ramirez. Just a small reminder of the very vibrant contemporary art scene in Oaxaca.
