Contemporary Public Art in Oaxaca

We also found this very moving display of public art on our walk around  Oaxaca City.   It's 2,501 almost life size clay figures that line the sides of the Alcala, a car free, pedestrian only street in the heart of downtown.  It's a show called 2,501 Migrantes by native Oaxqueno artist Alejandro Santiago Ramirez.  Just a small reminder of the very vibrant contemporary art scene in Oaxaca.  Click here to find out more about the Migrantes show.
