Sorry but I cannot resist. Mexico can be the land of magical thinking (and street theatre, and tradition, and fiesta). Case in point, the coastal town in Oaxaca where the mayor marries the princess lizard bride (who actually looks more like a small alligator to me). It's said to ensure good fishing in the village. The facebook page where I found this photo was full of entertaining jibes about the beauty of the bride. But much of the fiesta looked pretty serious and somber.
